Macy’s Celebrates Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month
Back to Category Print this page

A history of food, music and dance will be celebrated this May at select Macy’s locations nationwide in honor of contributions made by Asian-Pacific Americans. To showcase and celebrate the unique influence of Asian-Pacific Americans, Macy’s will host a series of events in nine markets across the country geared towards highlighting and sharing elements of Asian culture through culinary demonstrations and samplings by both local and national chefs, as well as through dance and vocal performances.

“Asian-Pacific Americans have had extraordinary impact on our nation and we are proud to celebrate these achievements with our Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month events nationwide,” said Dineen Garcia, Macy’s vice president of Diversity Strategies. We are thrilled to be working with local groups to showcase the diversity of Asian-Pacific culture through food, culture and history.”

Each city will host local performers, chefs and special tastings that speak to a variety of Asian-Pacific American cultures and cuisines. After the enriching performances and culinary demonstrations, guests are welcomed to shop the latest trends with a special 15 percent off, one-day community discount and receive a commemorative Macy’s Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month apron with any Macy’s purchase of $50 or more made on the day of the event (while supplies last).
