Two young women, Kiki and Kkobbi, whose purpose and background are unknown, and their nationalities unclear, win a lottery ticket from a cosmetics company while traveling in Hong Kong. The lottery prize is a free vacation to a resort called Mui Wo. Upon their arrival at Mui Wo Inn, they do not know each other at first, but in the mysterious atmosphere of the resort they quickly bond with each other. Their free vacation was for one night and two days, but they decide to stay on without reason. In a completely isolated and unknown place, they experience an extraordinary adventure. Their story is part fantastical and comical, and occasionally delves into suspense and horror. During the course of their unpredictable adventure, their relationship and feelings evolve and their inner conflicts and secrets are revealed.
KAFFNY returns to the Anthology Film Archives for its 6th annual film festival, June 5-10, 2012. This year’s bold new line-up includes 9 features, 6 premieres, and over 20 short films.
KAFFNY is the first and only film festival in New York City showcasing the diversity of Korean American and Korean diasporic perspectives in film. Since its inceptions in 2007 at the Anthology Film Archives, KAFFNY has continued to broaden its focus on emerging filmmakers to include international films by Korean and as well as non-Korean filmmakers.
