2012 ETTV Top Idol continues its search for the most talented and best singer in Los Angeles with its second L.A. audition at South Coast Plaza on June 16. 8 talented individuals made the cut after an afternoon of live audition. The judges included Martha Huang, Top Idol’s honorable judge; Daniel Liang, ex-executive producer of Top Idol and May Chiang, ETTV America EVP.

The 8 contestants that will advance to Top Idol’s TV show elimination round are Hun-Wei Tseng, Yang Yang, Kellie Liang, Shan Shan Lou, Wendy Hsin, Darren Kuo, Katy Joung and Vic Hu.

The 8 Top Idol hopefuls stood out among the many who auditioned and will all have the chance to claim 2012 Top Idol’s First place and to win a brand new 2-year free lease Mini Cooper Hardtop provided by ETTV and AutoWorld. Second Place will win $1000 in cash and prizes. Third Place will take home $500 plus gifts.

South Coast Plaza is one of the largest and most visited shopping center in the US, where thousands of shoppers visit every day. The audition stage was set up right in the center of the shopping center where hundreds of on-lookers stopped by to see Top Idol’s live audition. Yang Yang and Wendy Shin were both sent home from the audition two weeks earlier. This time around, both showed perseverance and determination as they won over the judges’ votes. In addition is Vic Hu, although with a casual ensemble, she impressed the judges with her powerful vocal and demonstrated great technique.

The potential of each individual was evident and all gave promising performances albeit being at a public environment. Judge Martha gave remarks saying it is important to never stop improving yourself and that consistency is the key to success. It takes years of diligent practice to be able to be the best. Age is never an issue, as Hung-wei Tseng, being 31 years old and the oldest so far this season to join Top Idol.

Producers of the show want to remind everyone to come out to Top Idol’s last Los Angeles audition on Saturday, June 23 at ETTV America Studio. East Coast audition will be held on June 30 at Flushing Mall, New York.
