The Amazing Spider-Man is a 2012 American superhero film directed by Marc Webb, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. Ilram Choi, a Korean American, is the stuntman for the Spider-Man!
It is a reboot of the Spider-Man film franchise, portraying the character’s origin story and his development into a superhero while still a high school student. The film stars Andrew Garfield in the title role as Spider-Man/Peter Parker, with Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy and Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors.
Ilram’s parents are from Korea. But Ilram himself was born in the U.S. As soon as he learned to walk, he began training in Tae Kwon Do. Besides the regular training, Ilram would learn by imitating the better martial artists and athletes, including his father.
Ilram Choi, a stuntman on The Amazing Spider-Man, talks about filling in for Andrew Garfield during some crucial and dangerous stunts. He also spills on which stunts Garfield did on his own, and exactly how long it takes to get into that spider suit.
