Suria Launches Indian Fashion Pop-Up Shop for a great cause in Manhattan. Neha Chhabra, the face behind Suria, had the opportunity to live in two fashion capitals: She was born in the Mumbai India, and raised in Southern California.
Suria is an Indian inspred collection of traditional and modern tunics, dresses, and accessories that transition from day to night. Suria in Indian Sanskrit means sun, and like the sun, Suria shines light on contemporary Indian fashion.
Founder Neha Chhabra was inspired to create SURIA from trips to India with her family. Her dream was to be able to use century old embroidery techniques and revamp this approach to create beautifully constructed contemporary dresses and kaftans for women.
Each style has comfort and sensibility using breathable fabrics such as chiffon and brocade silk. The use of classic embroideries along with her ability to incorporate modern silhouettes, translates into design that is effortless, exotic, and true-to-self each season.
Suria online will also debut a mix of established and emerging designers, which showcase Eastern and Western designs. Suria is meant for the woman who is global, a woman who is searching one-of-a- kind pieces into their wardrobe.
