Job Description
The D. E. Shaw group seeks a Senior Product Accountant to support its fixed income trading strategies. Responsibilities will include overseeing daily trade processing, settlement, and related reconciliations; daily and monthly profit and loss reconciliations, reporting, and analysis; monthly close and preparation of portfolio balance sheets and income statements; and security price testing. This newly-created position offers daily interaction with both senior management and proprietary trading staff.
The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of fixed income operations and accounting experience with a specialization in mortgage-backed, asset-backed, and whole-loan products for a financial services organization. He/she will also possess superior organizational, problem-solving, communication, and multi-tasking skills, and should be very comfortable using Microsoft Excel. A CPA is preferred but not required.
