This summer greets the world-class Oriental folk performing arts delegation all the way from Guizhou Province, China. They bring in the world-reputed performing art show “The Wind of Colorful Guizhou”, as organized by Guizhou Provincial Government and Guizhou Ethnic Song and Dance Troupe.
As one of the signature characteristics of Guizhou, “The Wind of Colorful Guizhou” large folk song and dance performing show is focused on the culture, art and daily life of the minorities, as widely but highly regarded as the most authentic folk art expression exhibited by excellent folk performing talents.
Guizhou, a mountainous province located in southwest China, is world famous for its beautiful scenery and exotic ethnic cultures and most widely distributed and developed Karstlandform in the world, called the Green Karst Kingdom. Some sites are on the list of World Nature Heritage. More than 17 minorities live in Guizhou for thousands of years. The varied cultures, arts, costumes, music, dances and ways of life of the minorities make Guizhou one of the most exotic and intriguing places in China and make this place the Colorful Guizhou.
This show has been travelled worldwide since 2005 for more than 1500 times. It has not only been loved by the people of China, but also garnered by enthusiastic responses overseas. The Wind of Colorful Guizhou performing delegation toured across America from Las Vegas to New Jersey last year and received an unprecedented reception from their audience. This year Mr. WANG Fuyu, vice-chairman of the China Guizhou People’s Political Consultative Conference will lead the team to perform in New York City, Miami, Chicago and Huston in August.
