Job Description
Jacobs Engineering Group is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join one of the largest Infrastructure projects in North America. Jacobs is the Program Manager on a multi-billion dollar transit project including rail, tunnel, station and general heavy construction in New York.
Primary responsibilities will include:
- Assist Program Manager in coordination with Cost/Schedule Engineers for reporting of construction progress, including cost and schedule status
- Assist Program Manager in implementation of and tracking compliance with CM Plan, including CM procedures and work instructions
- Assists Program Manager in review and sign-off of progress payment requisitions and invoices
- Assists Program Manager with identification, tracking and resolution of issues
- Coordinate directly with Construction Managers to ensure proper maintenance of Contract-specific logs, reports, and tracking systems
- Coordinate with Office Engineers, through the applicable Construction Managers, regarding field office drawing controls
- Coordinates with Office Engineers, through the applicable Construction Managers, regarding progress photos and documents needed to support construction progress meetings and reports, including FTA Workshops
- Assists Program Manager with coordination of assigned GEC’s design representatives
- Coordinates directly with Office Engineers and Office Services, through assigned Administrative Assistants, to ensure that all CM personnel have appropriate office equipment and supplies, including safety-related gear
- Support Program Manager with maintenance of CM-related spreadsheets and tracking systems, including those pertaining to cost/budget, planning, processes, procedures and personnel actions
Training and Experience
This dynamic and challenging position requires:
- Minimum 5+ years related experience, including construction management and field experience
- Logistics, planning, and/or direct construction/engineering experience preferred
- Previous experience in Construction Management
- Degree in Engineering
- PE preferred
- Strong PC Skills, familiar in the use of Expedition or similar software and Microsoft Office
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Valid Driver’s license
Needs to be physically fit in order to work on construction site, enter/exit construction temporary offices and conduct site surveys of buildings and/or tunnels. Requires ability to climb stairs, ladders and to lift light items. Candidate should be able to carry 25 lbs for a minimum of 50 feet. Requires travel and ability to be on your feet for considerable amount of day.
