Job Description

New York Center for Child Development is a dynamic growing non-for profit early childhood program. Our software developed in-house manages all areas of our program. Our software provides our program the capability to run our operation both efficiently and compliant with our funding sources. We are looking for a Database Developer to further assist us in the development of our software and to eventually create a standardized product for businesses providing similar mental health and educational services.

The Developer will work closely with the Senior DBA, Program Administrator and Executive Director. He/she will be required to write database programs, queries and reports and will be responsible for interfacing with end users and departmental management to develop/enhance their reports. This candidate needs excellent communication skills. The Developer will participate in the development and delivery of training in the use of the application and other solutions and act as technical resource to end users.
The Developer will also be responsible for maintaining our web site which is currently being developed.

Responsibilities
Write database programs, stored procedures, queries and reports.
Manage database security.
Monitor database trouble shooting database performance problems.

Environment
Applications are developed in Microsoft.NET with both SQL and FoxPro backend running on Microsoft Windows Server 2003

Required Qualifications
Knowledge of Windows 2003 & 2008 Server
Visual Basic
SQL Server
Proficient in .NET Platform
Standard Query Language
Bachelor’s degree in information systems or computer science required

Desired Qualifications
Website Development & Administration
HTML, PHP and Flash
FoxPro
Crystal Reports
Experience in a non-profit environment a plus.
