Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the electronic trading industry working in finance and/or strategic planning groups of an ECN, ATS, exchange, or broker-dealer. Candidate should be familiar with trading equities through the different execution venues in worldwide markets, designing financial and management reports, leading the short and long-term planning and budget processes, providing leadership to the development and execution of a financial plan, and assisting in strategic pricing decisions.
Skills & Educational Requirements:
– Comprehensive financial responsibility for firm’s regulatory compliance. Serve as Licensed NASD Series 27 Financial and Operations Principal. Manage the preparation and review of reporting including 15c3-1 (NASD FOCUS Report). Ensure net capital requirements are being met.
– Establish financial controls and accounting procedures. Oversee monthly close and annual audits for 10+ US and global entities.
– Serve as principal financial liaison with legal counsel to ensure all contracts and agreements are prepared in accordance with financial goals and standards.
– Design and implementation of all systems and reports used in developing financial strategies.
– Develop methods of cost allocation for management reporting on product line and geographical basis.
– Ensure consistency of data in internal and external reporting. Develop analysis to explain variances.
– Present recommended solutions and alternatives to client management based on analysis of trends, profitability, and growth opportunities.
– Evaluate industry developments, market conditions, and economic news to determine financial and business impact. Conduct in-depth industry benchmarking, company and market trend research, peer analysis, and market penetration modeling. Coordinate ad hoc analysis and management reports.
– Liaise with tax department to ensure integrity of transfer pricing methodology and license and service agreements, resolve worldwide audit issues, and minimize the tax impact of business decisions.
– Assess viability of new business ventures for early stage investment potential. Develop modeling and valuation, perform due diligence, create business plans, and provide decision support to executive management for strategic initiatives, business expansion, potential acquisitions and joint ventures.
– Establish organizational structure, employee-related policies, procedures and roles. Coach, develop and strengthen the skill of staff including controller, finance and accounting managers, junior and senior business analysts, and staff accountants. Evaluate, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews for all team members.
– Establish operating budgets and financial projections in-line with corporate objectives. Partner with the product management team for the business planning process including quantifying incremental revenue and resources (capital, expense, headcount) for calendar year initiatives. Liaise with the management reporting group on tracking performance vs. business plans and corporate allocations for product line reporting.
Skills and Educational Experience:
– Bachelors in Accounting or Finance required. MBA/CPA or Masters Degree in Finance preferred.
– Minimum 15 years experience with at least eight years in a finance role supporting a business unit with full P&L responsibility.
– Prior brokerage industry experience required. NASD Series 27 licensing required.
– Must have experience partnering with business unit leaders, developing strategic plans and leading the business and finance activities of a high revenue growth business in its early stages including new products.
– Strong leadership presence and negotiation skills required.
– Excellent quantitative, financial and analytical skills.
– Strong written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
– Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks are required.
