The Manhattan Hong Kong Music Festival is co-presented by Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC) and Manhattan School of Music (MSM). The week-long festival is the first of its kind from ADC to bring forth the finest musicians and music creation to one of the world’s leading music centres – New York. ADC is proud to initiate this project with a mission not only to reflect the diversity and vitality of musical Hong Kong but also to create and facilitate the cultural exchanges between the two metropolitan cities.
ADC and MSM invited Professor Johnny M Poon to be the Artistic Director of the Festival, who put together six very special concerts in various locations in Manhattan, including Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and MSM. In addition to these exciting concerts, an array of fringe activities such as master class, composition forum and meet-the-artists luncheon will also be organised to foster creative dialogues amongst the Hong Kong and New York artists.
The Manhattan Hong Kong Music Festival (MHKMF) is excited for its week-long festival with events taking place at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.
The week-long festival offers a rare opportunity for Hong Kong’s finest musicians to perform side-by-side with top New York musicians and students, including MSM Faculty, the MSM Symphony, and Tactus, MSM’s acclaimed contemporary ensemble.
