Major Responsibilities:
This position works with the editorial and marketing groups at W.H. Freeman on the development and launch of new products in new and emerging courses, as well as established markets in which we are trying to gain market share.
Responsibilities include:
• Preparation and management of all pilot and class-test initiatives
• Setting up, conducting, and summarizing the results of focus groups
• Market research (including the creation, distribution, and analysis of CRM campaigns)
• Creation and maintenance of CRM files
• Creation and management of review panels
• Market research and development seminars before publication of book
• Extensive interaction with our customers and sales force
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Strong communication (including writing), collaboration, and training skills
• The ability to balance big-picture creative skills with day-to-day management of multiple projects
• Superior planning and implementation skills
• Ability to work with technology (including WebEx) to conduct focus groups and other forms of market research
Experience Needed:
• A minimum of two years of experience in sales, marketing, editorial, or market research, preferably in college markets.
• Educational publishing experience in general is preferred.
Educational Background Required:
• Minimum B.A. or B.S. requirement
