Growing New York company seeks a Senior Java/J2EE Developer with the knowledge, motivation and energy to help build a more robust and flexible business logic core. If you’re a Java developer with strong programming skills and the desire to work on a variety of projects using the latest technologies, we’d like to meet you.

The primary Senior Java/J2EE Developer function will be to help plan, design, develop, test, debug, and deploy highly-available applications using best-of-breed Java technologies. An ideal candidate will be an extremely proficient Java/J2EE developer, and will be comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide a senior-level contribution to a team responsible for the design, development and implementation of critical business applications using best-of-breed Java technologies
  • Work with traditional software lifecycle methodologies. Create design documents when and as required. Perform coding, debugging and testing
  • Define the integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software and hardware
  • Consider and research emerging technologies to improve current applications, architectures and processes
  • Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years Java Development experience with J2EE
  • Experience with Struts, Spring, JSP, JSF, EJB, hibernate, ant, log4j, junit
  • Facility with SQL and one or more relational databases, such as Oracle or SQL Server
  • Exposure to all aspects of the software development lifecycle
  • Current knowledge of application servers such as JBoss, Apache Tomcat, Websphere & Weblogic
  • Excellent object-oriented design & programming skills, including strong working knowledge and experience in using UML and design patterns

Further, the ideal Senior Java/J2EE Developer will have strong verbal and written communication skills, will be a true team player with a commitment to success, and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing development environment
