About the Job
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Pre Sales Engineer who will be the key technical resource for pre-sales engagements to customers in the areas of data warehousing/data mart deployments (looking for experience in data warehouse/data mart, ETL, Business Intelligence (BI) Tools type of environments). .
As a Pre Sales Engineer candidates will be working closely with the account executive team setting up demos as well as creating Proof-of-Concept (POC) plans. Individuals will also work with Customer Support/Tech Support to report problems discovered during pre-sales engagements, demonstrations or POCs. Responsibilities also include providing requirements input to prod mgmt on new and useful features as well as provide post-sales training and short term post-sales consulting support as necessary. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in pre-sales customer engagements for enterprise customers with related domain expertise in some combination of experience/expertise in areas such as data warehousing/data mart deployments, RDBMS (relational database), Business Intelligence (BI) Tools, Analytic Applications, or ETL Tools. Individuals must also have experience with Linux, Shell Scripting as well as strong knowledge of 2+ databases(preferably Open Source Databases). Start-up experience is highly preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
Six or more years experience in pre-sales consulting/engineering role(s) selling enterprise class software and system products
Excellent knowledge with one or more Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence (BI) tools, technologies and applications
Strong Linux and Scripting experience.
Good knowledge of 2 or more databases (preferably Open Source Databases)
Ability to install, setup, and configure hardware based products
Excellent analytical skills, business skills and interaction skills in customer settings with the ability to best match customer requirements and manage customer expectations
Experience responding to RFPs/RFQs
Highly motivated, self driven with excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
