Job Description
Immediate need to work for luxury Fashion Company in NYC as Director of Construction and Facilities and also a need for a Project Manager
Must be Bilingual Italian
Director opening
You will be responsible for overseeing several areas including Real Estate, Construction, Maintenance, Corners Development, Window installation and Special Projects.
Varied Duties including:
Coordination of Technical activities with Administration and the legal office.
– Compile budget for technical activities and control of costs during development of works.- Develop procedures and define organization of the Technical Office.
Coordination with all authorities and government agencies (Building Department, Fire Dept., etc.)
– Planning and scheduling of activities of the Technical office
– Analize new and innovative technologies.
– Negotiate and award contracts.
– Technical support to all special events.
– Manage maintenance activities and investment activities.
Project Manager
Plans, and coordinates activities of designated project and holds primary responsibility to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Preliminary survey: photo, video and drawings; material to evaluate the condition of the new space.
Assist design architect in developing a preliminary project.
Review project documents: spec. Book, construction drawings and contracts; before the construction begins.
Prepare time schedule in collaboration with the local architect and construction manager/general contractor.
Research availability of external warehouse if necessary: Assist in the selection of location, survey existing conditions, coordinate installation of security system and
prepare warehouse.
Assist in coordinating move-in effort regarding: logistics, materials etc. before, during and after the store’s merchandising.
Responsible for collection of closeout documents and coordination with maintenance group for setting up all relevant maintenance contracts.
Qualifications:
The candidate must have a general knowledge of construction methods and practices.
Shall be able to read and understand construction documents (drawings and specifications), contracts and general project correspondence.
The candidate shall possess a degree in architecture or a related field demonstrating design ability, general knowledge of construction methods and practices, field
experience, and Client contact. Facility with Metric measuring systems is required. General understanding and facility with European graphic and construction means and
standards is required. Previous retail design experience is recommended. The candidate must also have extensive experience and facility with Auto-cad and other computer
assisted drawing and graphic programs.
