Job Description
Job Objectives: This position will be responsible for providing accounting operation support to Allied World Reinsurance Company.
What You’ll Be Doing:
• Become proficient in the use of TIRS – Allied World Reinsurance application
• Premium production- maintain monthly production spreadsheets, manual entry of non deposit contacts into TIRS and the oversight of automatic deposit premium contracts
• Premium Receivable management – creation of receivable reports and management reporting
• Manage oversight of the invoices being entered into TIRS by support personnel
• Reconciliation-TIRS to the general ledger, TIRS to broker documents, TIRS reports to underwriting report
• Maintain the calculation of profit commission and sliding scale commission adjustments
• Calculate and monitor reinstatement premium accruals
• Perform month end analytical of premium and acquisitions costs
• Monitor production to ensure there aren’t any processing backlogs
• Provide information to internal and external auditors for sign-offs on financial statements
• Assist in review, establishment, testing and documentation of internal controls and procedures in accordance with company standards and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
What We Require:
• 3-5 plus years accounting experience with evidence of increasing responsibilities in Accounting and/or Audit role
• Insurance and/or Reinsurance accounting background strongly preferred
• Strong information technology experience including familiarity with Microsoft Office and various general ledger products
• Experience in dealing with internal and external auditors
• Accounting certification (CA, CPA or CMA) strongly desired
• Ability to assess and anticipate the needs and issues of a rapidly growing Insurance/Reinsurance Company
• Excellent communication skills; management experience in leading an accounting/financial team in a changing environment
• Proven ability to meet strict reporting deadlines, ability to deal with time pressure
