Join AsianInNY for a Lunar New Year extravaganza in Atlantic City to cheer them up after the the Atlantic City Boardwalk was washed out by Hurricane Sandy. With your participation, we will bring the joy and support to Atlantic City!
Date: Sat. Feb 16th 2013 8am – 8pm
Meetup: Picking Up 8AM from Chinatown (19 Division street, NY)
Lunar New Year is viewed as one of the most important Asian holidays. The day itself represents great joy and good fortune. Superstorm Sandy destroyed and hit hard at Atlantic City, so AsianInNY has decided to celebrate the beautiful traditions and cultural richness of Asia and to support the rebuild of Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Following the Waking the Lion ceremony, the Boardwalk parade features special performances, marching bands, lion dances, floats and Shaolin Kung-Fu displays.
Details: Free bus rides and everyone will receive free breakfast, lunch and gifts when you join us for the parade.
Starting: we will provide buses to pick us up at 8AM from Chinatown New York
Parade: 2-4pm ** All Participants are REQUIRED to walk the Parade with costumes ** (we will prepare traditional costumes for all to wear. We will rock the parade Asian style!)
Sightseeing/Casino/Shopping time: 4-7pm (there are plenty to do in Atlantic City! Example, at Casino Bally’s, there is a MINI CHINATOWN providing tons of crafts and food from 4PM to Midnight.)
Return: meet at 7pm to return to NYC
Options: discounted hotel rates at Bally’s of $79+tax (original price is $249) for people who desire to stay over night & discounted tickets for shows that night (You handle your transportation back to NYC.)
