Job Description
Title: IT Financial Analyst
Location: New York City
Type: Consultant
Length: 6 months plus
Overview:
The IT Finance Analyst works with the IT Director, the IT Managers, Finance to manage day to day aspects of the IT budget and spend.
• Prepare expense projections
• Prepare monthly accruals
• Provide month-to-month spending variance explanations
• Monitor and reconcile corporate cross-charges.
• Provide actual-to-budget and forecast-to-budget variance explanations.
• Prepare and maintain project cost detail
• Validate project YTD budget/actual/forecast report prepared by Business Planning.
• Prepare monthly project tracking report
• Utilize Finance processes and systems to review, validate and seek approval for payment of all IT vendor invoices
• Update and maintain database for ad hoc reporting purposes
• Market Data Expense Allocation Support
• Update and maintain market data vendor database
• Provide quarterly user allocation report to Business Planning.
• Purchase additional market data vendor licenses for new users and reduce number of licenses if required.
• Maintain hard/soft copy of vendor contracts
• Cell phone and Blackberry coordinator
• Manage purchase of devices, coordinate activation, and record keeping.
• Operations Legal, Compliance, and Risk Management database
• Coordinate tracking of outstanding tasks for Operations management.
• IT Physical Inventory Checking
• Perform annual physical IT equipment inventory review
• Document inventory checks results with Finance
• Perform inventory disposal spot check.
• Document all procedures
• Obtain approvals for procedures from Finance
Core Requirements:
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Professional experience in general accounting operations, financial management, budget and cost accounting.
• Able to work independently
• Strong collaborative skills
• Analytical, problem solving, and decision making abilities
• Planning, organizational and administrative skills
• Interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and to meet deadlines
• Procedure writing skill
• Understanding of IT Operations and Projects accounting
• Knowledge of Investment Management market data and systems
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
