Arn Chorn-Pond survived the atrocities of the Khmer Rouge by playing music, an inspiring story chronicled in the National Book Award finalist NEVER FALL DOWN and the Emmy-nominated film, The Flute Player. Since then Arn has spent his life revitalizing the traditional art forms of Cambodia – a journey that culminates in the Season of Cambodia festival in New York this spring.
He will perform on April 11 with Master Mek, the beloved music teacher who nurtured Arn with his strong and gentle presence during their time together in a Khmer Rouge death camp — an evening that is sure to be an emotional high point of the festival.
