In 1936 Volunteers from 52 countries came to the aid of the democratically elected government of Spain that was threatened by a fascist rebellion aided by Hitler and Mussolini. This is the story of the Asian members of the International Brigades who fought in these early battlefields in the war against fascism in Spain, many of whom later went to China to fight another war against Japanese imperial aggression.
