Moderated by Richard Liu from MSNBC News, candidates for Mayor will answer questions compiled by the Asian Pacific American community of New York City, focusing on the growing Asian Pacific American voice and issues that face the community. The forum is an educational non-partisan event, and the following candidates have been invited: Sal Albanese, Adolfo Carrion, John Catsimatidis, Bill de Blasio, Joseph Lhota, John Liu, George McDonald, Christine Quinn, Bill Thompson.
As the fastest growing population in New York City, the Asian Pacific American community is an essential economic driver in the City with growing voting power and strong donor base, representing 13.9% of the population with 1.3 million New Yorkers throughout all five boroughs. The forum will give candidates an opportunity to address constituents about key issues that affect our community including health, education, economic development, social service needs, civic engagement, and immigration.
