The Museum of Chinese in America will present a night of engaging storytelling with theater performance group SLANT on Saturday, May 11. Richard Ebihara and Perry Yung, the co-founders of SLANT will chronicle their 18 years in theatre, weaving the SLANT narrative together through documentary excerpts from their tours across America and sharing of stories from their songs.
Richard Ebihara and Perry Yung are co-founders of the SLANT Performance Group along with Wayland Quintero. Since 1995, asv resident theater company of La Mama E.T.C, SLANT created eight original theatrical productions and toured to over 40 colleges and universities across America, in the Former Yugoslavia and in Yunnan Province, China. Their dynamic tapestry of music, story telling and puppetry is inspired by Asian American history and challenges the boundaries of racial identity in American culture.
