This unpaid internship position provides the unique opportunity to work with the professional motion picture production team from City College of New York to learn the whole procedure of movie making and publishing. As an intern at MFA THESIS FILM, you would assist with/or take the lead of a broad range of tasks including but not limited to; marketing strategy planning and execution; fundraising planning and execution; updating and managing social medial channels; public relations and other related issues. The hands-on experience adds valuable and practical knowledge to your resume, growing your appeal with a broad range of employers.Additionally, upon successful completion of the internship, you will receive are commendation letter from MFA THESIS FILM director, the opportunity to attend City Vision Movie Festival with the MFA THESIS FILM production team, and your name will be presented on the Movie Credit.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Fundraising: Plan and execute effective fundraising strategy and campaigns to raise sufficient fund needed for movie production, including page setup and management on Indiegogo and Kickstarter.

• Campaign Development: Execute initial setup of social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, IMDB, and other social media platforms),coordinating creative executions for landing pages, default graphics, and other elements within the communities.
• Community Management: Operate day-to-day community management, fan engagement, page and content moderation, and general outreach.
• Content Monitoring and Seeding: Monitor key online conversations and events to make sure brands are participating effectively and are being well-represented. Seed approved content and editorial pieces to key influencers and other identified sites and blogs.
• Research: Conduct necessary research as needed in order to engage the community and to investigate any trending activities within the community.
• Analysis: Take data from research and performance analytics and create reports to evaluate social media performance and provide feedbacks for campaign optimization.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Skilled writer with ability to write succinct, intelligent, creative and fun copy.
• Must have exceptional traditional writing and grammatical skills and a flair for communicating in all social media channels.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and switch gears to capitalize on traffic opportunities.
• Working knowledge of and experience with online networks (including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google, Tumblr, etc.)
• A basic understanding of motion picture industry and the strong passion for movie production.

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree advertising, communications, marketing,new media or public relations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent computer skills; ability to work independently and efficiently on concurrent projects; ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal staff and outside clients, partners and vendors is required. An understanding of the social media universe including Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Wikis, blogs, etc. is a MUST.
