Love is Sin (2012, Taiwan)
In a small Taiwanese village surrounded by charming scenery, the kind middle-aged storeowner A-mien welcomes people, especially children, with her warm tea eggs at the tiny grocery store she runs. One day, Midori encounters a handsome foreign stranger named Jimmy on his way back to the village. Everyone believes that Jimmy is a young priest from America and A-mien asks him to teach her English. But on Christmas Eve, A-mien sits alone at the church and confesses to God that she is sinful of something that she has kept in secret for more than thirty years. LOVE IS SIN is a sweet haunting tale about human redemption.
Screening Mystery is an educational program of Saint Luke’s Church offered to church members free of charge. The one time showing of the movie is presented as a discussion starter for people to consider aspects of religious faith and spiritual development. Movies are chosen because they depict themes that assist in this discussion and exploration.
LOVE IS SIN is chosen in these film festivals.
