29th June 2013
South Street Seaport, New York
The completely free Siren Festival sponsored by the Village Voice is no more after a decade of indie tunes at Coney Island. The festival isn’t gone for good, it’s just changing venues and names – it will now be known as the 4 Knots Music Festival (4 knots is the speed of the waves on the river at the Seaport) and will take place at the South Street Seaport, New York City
The Village Voice independently produces the Siren Music Festival. Set against the backdrop of Coney Island, this free, all ages, all day music festival showcases renowned and emerging artists on two outdoor stages.
The Village Voice Siren Music Festival brings together the Voice’s readership and the New York community through an event that celebrates the freedom of expression inherent in music. Through this festival The Village Voice plays an active role in the revitalization of this historic Brooklyn community and celebrates the Voice’s long standing tradition of local and national music coverage.
