Don’t want to carry a picnic to the Lawn Party? Well, have we got just the solution!
We are excited to present “A Taste of the 20s” – carefully crafted and curated by our new chef, long-time NYC-based restaurateur Jimmy Carbone (owner of Jimmy’s No. 43 and Mugsy’s Chow Chow)

Jimmy knows good food al fresco, and has created many delicious culinary events on Governors Island, including Cook Out NYC, the 5boro PicNYC, Pig Island and more. He is now flipping his cookbook back to the ‘20s to bring you the best and most authentic, tasty and fun offerings from the Jazz Age. Following is a sampling of what will be on offer this weekend, plenty for all tastes and (most) dietary needs.

Feeling parched? Cool down with a “Gus’s Grown up Soda”, “Plantea” Iced-Tea, Coffee (hot and iced!) from “Kobrick’s” of New Jersey or a good old fashioned Lemonade. And of course you can always whet your whistle on one of St-Germain’s refreshing cocktails and sangria, or an ice cold beer.

Bring your blankets for a fun in the sun picnic or head to our “Dreamland General Store” to buy one of our new signature Jazz Age Lawn Party blankets as a commemorative token of your day on the lawn.

This is a cash only event. ATMs will be located on the lawn for your convenience.

Friends, just a reminder: While you are welcome to bring your own picnic, outside alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited by Governors Island and will be confiscated; all bags are subject to search by Governors Island security personnel.
