Job Description
Large International NYC based firm seeks a Staff Accountnat to join their team.

Responsibilities:
Ø Prepare financial statements as well as other financial and statistical reports requested by manager in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and regulations.
Ø Reconcile general ledger and various bank accounts as assigned in a timely manner. This includes resolving all outstanding items as promptly and accurately as possible.
Ø Prepare journal vouchers, accounting records and documents in accordance with record preservation and retention guidelines. Ensure proper backup of computer files.
Ø Assist Examiners, CPA Auditors and Internal Auditors during periodic examinations and audits.
Ø Prepare and submit to management all necessary accounting reports related to assigned accounting functions and ensure that support documentation is available where necessary.
Ø Update the Accounting Procedures Manual as required/requested.
Ø Process Fixed Assets depreciation and reconciliation of Fixed Asset General Ledger accounts monthly.
Ø Assist with monthly, quarterly and yearly closings.
Ø Perform special projects as assigned and provide support for other accounting team membership. Assist in the training of new employees.

Qualifications for Staff Accountant:
Ø BA in Accounting
Ø Minimum of two years related work experience
Ø Strong PC Skills including knowledge of spreadsheet software and work processing
Ø Good Oral and Written Communication Skills
Ø A full range of accounting and financial knowledge
