Kumiko Takada was born in Japan in 1979. She studied Japanese-style painting at Seian University of Art and Design, graduating in 2000.
Awarded for her work at the Kyohouji Temple in Kyoto and the 50th Nishinomiya City Exhibition,
Takada has appeared in numerous group exhibitions, including the Seian University exhibition in Mii Temple’s main hall, the Folding Screen exhibition at Kyoto Art Center, and the Box for stricken areas exhibition at Gallery Haneusagi in Kyoto,and Fukushima prefectural museum of art in Fukushima,and the +me exhibition at CASO in Osaka-city,and the 100Artist Exhibition at Ouchi Gallery in NY,and Sala Dei Templari,Molfetta,Italy,,and Japan Adge Act.2 at Galerie Metanoia in France,and Pameran Poskad Exhibition at VIRIDIAN ART HOUSE in Singapore,and Finalists’ Exhibition at La Galleria in London,the U.K,and BIEAF2012 exhibition at BS gallery in Busan,Korea,and Onward-Navigating the Japanese Future Exhibition at The Hive Gallery in Los Angeles,and EWAA Charity(for the Great Japan Earthquake)Exhibition,La Galleria,London,the U.K.
Takada’s first solo exhibition, TIME LAG, was held at Gallery Antenna in March 2011.
Takada is Inspired by the seasons, nature, landscapes, plants, and natural phenomena. Responding to these surroundings, she uses Japanese-style painting to express a feeling both personal and emphasized with as the human experience.
