Pre-Game Performances Celebrating Chinese Culture Begin at 6:30 p.m.
FLUSHING, N.Y., September 6, 2013 – The New York Mets today announced they will host the 2nd annual “An Evening of Chinese Culture” next Friday, September 13 when the Mets play the Miami Marlins at 7:10 p.m. at Citi Field.
The Mets will celebrate Chinese culture through pre-game performances and in-game entertainment. The club encourages fans to arrive early to Citi Field to watch the pre-game performances starting at 6:35 p.m. Over 200 participants will perform Tai Chi, led by a two-time World Champion of Tai Chi.
Mr. Han Bo Lin will be singing the National Anthem and and Guo Xiang Sun, the Chinese Ambassador to the U.S., will be throwing out the first pitch.
The event is co-hosted by the Sino-American Culture & Arts Foundation, the Sino-American Friendship Association, the China National Tourism Administration and Cimagine Media Group.
The Sino-American Culture & Arts Foundation will give away 1,000 special Chinese gifts to fans arriving early for the pre-game entertainment. Fans can pick up their item at the Sino-American Culture & Arts Foundation info table in the concourse level.
