Saturday, October 5, 2013, 11:00 AM to Midnight
ROULETTE & YWCA,
ATLANTIC AVE & 3RD AVE, DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN
Half kid-friendly indoor street fair, half cultural happening, this free festival will have all-day dumpling-making sessions and a whole floor of food venders (Bombay Sandwich Shop, Brooklyn Soda Works, and Big Bao). Our line-up includes more than 80 writers, intellectuals, and artists, including winners of the Pulitzer, Tony and Guggenheim, and artists who’re in the Met and MOMA.
There will be live dancers. Sound installations. A class on how to write comics by an X-men writer. Interactive workshops like origami folding and butterfly-making. An NPR show will do live recordings. A food-related performance piece. A pop-up poster gallery. Tarot card readings with a well-known novelist. Free posters. Even a guy in a big dumpling suit.
