Yuhan Su, a native of Taiwan, graduated in 2008 with a Masters in Music from the Taipei National University of Arts. In the same year, she received a scholarship and enrolled into Berklee College of Music, majoring in jazz vibraphone performance. She has studied jazz vibraphone with Dave Samuels and Ed Saindon, and Marimba with Nancy Zeltsman. In 2008, she received the prestigious award of “Most Active Mallet Player” from the percussion department. Her exceptional music works are well recognized in Taiwan. She has received the First Prize in the 2006 Live Performance in Digital Art Awards, the First Prize with her band in the Hakka Music competition, and the First Prize in the 2007 Original Music Award.
Yuhan Su is endorsed by Alternate Mode as a featured MalletKAT artist in May 2012. She currently joins saxophone virtuoso Greg Osby’s Inner Circle Music and releases her debut album Flying Alone. On Oct 26th, Yuhan Su’s album ‘Flying Alone’ won the Golden Indie Music Award in Taiwan for the Best Jazz Album of the Year and the Best New Artist Award!
