On Oct. 16, Jimmy Kimmel aired a segment of his Kids Table, where he asked young kids how the U.S. could solve the $1.3 trillion trade imbalance with China. “Kill everyone in China,” answered one laughing 6-year-old. Since then thousands of protesters targeted ABC Studios in Burbank, Houston, Phoenix, and New York to ask ABC for a public apology.
Some viewers were so upset that they took their anger to the White House’s “We the People” online initiative urged ABC to stop racism against the Chinese and fire Jimmy Kimmel, and just within three weeks, the petition created by H.Z. has reached 100,000 signatures.
President Barack Obama won’t be calling a press conference but the White House will post an online response about the petition. The question is when and what will White House respond regarding what ABC aired?
