As a young musician, Jiaju Shen showed incredible promise, winning the Gold Medal at the China Oriental Arts Star Competition in 2004. Since then, Shen has gone on to graduate from the prestigious Shanghai Theater Academy where she received her Bachelor of the Arts in Chinese Instruments Performance in 2010. She also holds a Master of Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute, which she received in 2012. Specializing in the traditional Pipa, an instrument similar to the lute and steeped in thousands of years in history, Shen has demonstrated her virtuosity in various important venues, performing at the Shanghai Expo in 2010, the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in 2011, the Summer Stage Festival in 2013, and the Asian-American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month Celebration in 2013. She also was one of only 200 women in all of China chosen as a medal presenter at the 2008 Olympic Games. As a member of the Shanghai Performance Artists Workers Union, she has planned and participated in more than a dozen charity performances in the community. Shen currently lives in Queens, New York.
Multi-instrumentalist Brandon Terzic has been a fixture on the NYC world music scene for the last 16 years. He has trail blazed the mixing of African, Middle Eastern, Flamenco and Downtown NYC Jazz styles into a cohesive whole. He performs regularly with his different ensembles and as a sideman.
