Role Objective:
The Marketing Strategy group works within Funds Distribution (JPMorgan’s Retail Asset Management Business). Interactions occur across sales, marketing, operations and finance to build frameworks, design processes and provide metrics that drive our business forward. This role is for a project analyst within the Business Intelligence (BI) segment of Marketing Strategy. BI focuses on bringing analysis and insights regarding our sales and marketing processes in an effort to improve our strategic approach and enhancing our selling effectiveness.
The primary focus of the role will be to work within the BI team to develop a strategic framework across all of our sales channels (RIA, Sub-advisory, PCS, RIS, PB, Warehouse, and IBD). The objectives will include:
1. Establish targeting programs for marketing campaigns and Financial Advisor field resources
· Customize targeting rules for campaigns and test groups
· Utilize different measurement approaches such as control cell methodology to ensure readability of results
· Manage BI responsibilities and integrate with entire marketing/sales process including campaign strategy creation, data collection, results measurement and read-out
4. Develop and implement hypotheses around Financial Advisor segmentation models
· Creating segmentations schemes using statistical techniques such as clustering or discriminate models
· Develop framework to test and validate segmentation hypothesis using experimental design
· Create data collection process
· Build regression model to validate results
5. Create a test and learn feedback loop around contact strategies
· Create regression models to measure the impact of each type of activity
· Use results of such model to optimize contact with customers (e.g., touches vs. sales)
6. Measure the success of our marketing events or sales programs
· Creating and establishing metrics of success
· Perform advanced and multi dimensional analysis which looks at conversion rates, ROI, marketing effectiveness against the appropriate comparison groups
7. Assess and check data integrity on internal data sets
· Merge, analyze and assess large transactional datasets
· Develop rules for cleaning and processing data in order to establish benchmarks or standards
· Create and implement process to clean (and keep data clean)
In addition, the Business Intelligence group will be working with the JP Morgan Funds group management team to define the long-term strategy for our business.
Finally, the individual will build a long-term capability to drive innovation in all areas of our business. We will build an on-going competitive intelligence capability, providing actionable industry and competitive information to the business. We will use this insight to work with business leaders to drive innovation in sales, product, service and marketing through carefully tracked pilot programs and other methods.
Responsibilities
Build strong partnerships with JPMorgan Funds Marketing and Sales Management teams. Utilize your expertise throughout the entire Campaign Management Life Cycle. Ensure that marketing campaigns and events are properly created in the development stage to provide the ability to accurately create post mortem analysis. Partner with JPMorgan Funds Retail Operations for process enhancements and systems planning. Build and establish strong relationships with Retail Operations to ensure a solid understanding of platforms, CRM tools, and business reporting devices.
Provide project management and planning support to the Marketing Strategy team on key initiatives for JPMorgan Funds Management.
Qualifications
B.A./M.A. in the area of Statistics, Engineering or Quantitative Sciences preferred
Two to Four years experience in:
· Quantitative modeling (statistical and financial model development, etc.)
· Demonstrated ability to translate a business reporting request into business requirements and a replicable report using SQL, SAS or SPSS
· Ability to handle, merge and transform large datasets using SAS or SPSS
· Previous experience with advanced statistical techniques such as experimental design, clustering/categorization models, logistic or GLM regressions in a business setting
· Ability to identify business issues and use data to support business decisions
· Knowledge and proven capabilities in a combination of SPSS, SAS, SQL and Excel is required
· Familiarity with Business Objects, Crystal Reports and CRM systems a plus
