Film Lab is officially starting off 2014 with a bang, if we do say so ourselves! Our first event of 2014 will consist of an Industry Spotlight on Writing for Television. Television writers Kenneth Lin (House of Cards), Travon Free (The Daily Show) and Celena Cipriaso (All My Children) will discuss what it is like writing for their respective shows. Together, they will explain their process, how they broke into the industry and what it is like to entertain millions of viewers.
The event is part of the Film Lab’s signature “Industry Spotlight” program, in which established industry professionals share their knowledge, expertise and advice with up and coming, new and aspiring creatives.
Film Lab’s Industry Spotlight, “Writing for TV,” will take place in Manhattan on Thursday, January 30th, 2013, 7-9pm. The event will be open to the public although, due to high demand, the Film Lab is asking people to RSVP in advance here, via Eventbrite. The specific address will be announced in mid January online at www.asianamericanfilmlab.org and https://www.facebook.com/events/238507282990376/.
This is sure to be an insightful and educational evening.
With special thanks to the Writers Guild of America East.
