Now an annual event at Irondale, Flicfest is a Festival of Feature-length Independent Choreography. Each evening of FLICfest will include two feature-length dance theater works followed by a performance cabaret in the balcony lounge.
Taiwan-born choreographer Yung-Li Chen has created a duet centered upon psychologist Amy Cuddy’s theories of power posing—adopting confident postures such as a lifted chest, raised head, and out-stretched arms increases social success. With A. Cuddy Project, Chen is interested in translating this “fake it till you make it” physical process into an original choreography dance work.
