Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s New York office will participate in New York Times Travel Show that is held between February 28th and March 2nd in Jacob K. Javits Convention Center to promote Taiwan tourism. This year the Bureau specially transported sky lanterns from Taiwan to decorate the show booth with the theme of Taiwan Lantern Festival, along with “Time for Celebration – Taiwan Tourism Events” calendar to create a festive and joyful atmosphere. Taiwan show booth will feature six elements of tourist attraction – Time for Romance, Time for LOHAS, Time to Eat, Time to Shop, Time for Marvel, Time for Nature – promoted by “Time for Taiwan” campaign. The Bureau also emphasizes that now is the best time to visit Taiwan by offering special inducements such as weekly promotional events, daily special offers, spotlights all over the island, and heart-warming moments for everybody!

The three-day travel show will offer live demonstration of Taiwan tea ceremony and public tasting. People in the greater New York area not only can sample the fragrance of Taiwanese tea, they can also get a taste of Boba milk tea, Taiwanese traditional dancing, and even a hand-on experience in a very popular boba-shaking competition. This year the Bureau will also offer “Goldfish Catchin” – the most favorite game played in Taiwan’s night market, and “King of Bwey” contest to challenge everyone. All participants will have the opportunity to receive a lively and adorable, Taiwan Lantern Festival edition, Year of the Horse themed lantern as a limited giveaway for each day’s activities. Industry visitors and public will get a taste of the fun festivity presented by the Taiwan Tourism Event Calendar.

New York Times ranks Taiwan 11th among world’s 52 must visit places in 2014. The report highlights the bounty of Taiwan’s natural wonders and charming small towns, ubiquitous gourmet food and street snacks, fast and convenient transportation network made up by its passenger-friendly High Speed Rail, Taiwan Railway, MRT and buses, high-star hotels and B&Bs.
