Job Description
The Management Supervisor manages a portfolio of agency business with strategic and business/P&L responsibility for his or her assigned clients and brands. The Management Supervisor plays a key role in the development of client strategy as well as maintaining effective client contact with senior brand managers and client management (marketing, sales, and procurement). The overall responsibilities of the Management Supervisor are three-fold: 1) Manage assigned business well and profitably; 2) Build business organically, across the S&H network offerings; and 3) Develop staff. The Management Supervisor plays a key role in agency management and growth, and serves as the client’s navigator to the S&H network of resources. Each year, financial targets and business goals will be communicated by the Managing Partners and CFO. Financial targets will focus on revenue growth, profit growth, staff utilization, staff cost ratio, and cross-selling of digital and medical education work. The Management Supervisor should have a thorough understanding of these business metrics. It is the Management Supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that the highest level of work is delivered to the client, and that the agency is exceeding client expectations across all aspects of our work.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Manage a portfolio of business ensuring a comprehensive strategic approach to client’s business
· Create a budget for the portfolio of business, and supervise staffing and workflow to ensure profitability of business (appropriate phasing and staffing as well as cost tracking)
· Maintain P&L responsibility for all assignments including achievement of revenue and profit goals
· Manage all financial aspects of the business including partnering with the CFO in compensation negotiations, client communications concerning budget variances, staffing issues, etc.
· Identify new business opportunities, specifically taking a key role in initiating contact
· New business responsibilities include organic business development with existing client(s) as well as running pitches for new accounts
· Hire, develop, and retain all levels of account management personnel – help to manage skill level development and to reduce turnover
· Understand all offerings within the network and proactively coordinate with all divisions for increased partnership opportunities and integration. As a brand navigator, focus on effective delivery of integrated marketing offerings (traditional and digital, professional and patient, managed markets, etc.)
Experience working with Biologics is a must
