TC CHARTON Asian Fit Eyewear Preview 2014 Collection at Vision Expo East
Back to Category Print this page

TC Charton Asian Fit Eyewear, the only eyewear brand in North America that focuses on creating beautiful and alluring sunglasses and frames for Asians in North America, will be presenting its brand new 2014 collection at Vision Expo East.

Asian Americans represent one of the most highly educated, affluent and savvy group of consumers. It is a known fact that the Asian American market, a population of about 16 million, is an important sector in the optical industry. Unfortunately it is one of the most under-served because eyewear options available are not designed with Asian features in mind.

The majority of eyewear products available in this market were designed to fit Caucasian features. As Asian facial characteristics are different than those of Caucasians, no wonder Asian Americans have scarce selection of eyewear products that offers them the proper fit. Compared to Caucasians, many Asians have higher cheekbones and lower nose bridges—their hunt for the right eyewear could be a frustrating and tiresome experience.

In 2009, designer Alexandra Peng, launched TC CHARTON Asian Fit Eyewear to fill this void. Now with over 80 styles of frames and over 30 styles of sunglasses, each and every styles of TC CHARTON addresses the nuances and the unique needs of Asian eyewear consumers.

Media are invited to attend this event between 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Thursday March 28, 2014 to see the new product first-hand speak to the designer Alexandra Peng, and try on the products to experience the unique fit of this collection.

About Alexandra Peng

Armed with twenty years of experience overseeing luxury eyewear brands and seeing them through from conception to production, Alexandra Peng offers optical industry with a collection that addresses Asian American eyewear consumers with unprecedented fit.

TC CHARTON Asian Fit Eyewear is the first eyewear line designed in North America specifically with Asians in mind, producing both ophthalmic frames and sunglasses. Born in Taiwan and grew up in Argentina, Alexandra always had difficulty finding eyewear that actually fits her face.

After working in optical industry and vested years of producing eyewear that she herself couldn’t wear, Peng started considering the unique concerns Asians have when choosing eyewear. Specifically, glasses just don’t fit, because of smaller nose bridges, wider facial structures and higher cheekbones; all of the classical features of the Asian face conspire to make conventional eyewear impossible to Asian consumers. The end result is eyewear which sits properly on the face and that stays in place where it should. All materials are of highest quality, from Europe and Japan and some parts have to be molded by hand to get the perfect fit.
