SUMMARY
The Director, Global Marketing for Soft Sheen-Carson is responsible for the long term development of the brand on a worldwide basis. While others may be assigned, ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include:
1. Leads and supervises entire development process, for international launches, respecting commitment to countries
2. Initiates new product strategies, including the positioning, formulation, packaging, pricing, and advertising
3. Repositions existing brands to stimulate consumer demand
4. Oversees and guides brand development as well as portfolio priorities
5. Collaborates with R&D, Sr Management and Zones in developing projects, partners and strategically influences to attain ¡’buy in¡¿ from them
6. Identify trends globally (salon/consumer, ingredients/technology, etc
7. Generates revolutionary ideas and concepts for products within the ethnic hair care industry on a global level
8. Leads the development/achievement of 3-year pannier for his/her platform
9. Manage budgets and their financial implications
10. Lead Advertising meetings, write communication briefs, model specs (audio or video), relay and follow-up on Sr Executive feedback, participates in casting calls and attends shoots
11. Conduct extensive market research at the global level including focus groups, survey design, competitive analysis, BASES, MSW
12. Responsible for providing coaching and development to team members, cross-functionally, internally and externally
13. Responsible for effectively managing, training and developing direct report(s) and their team(s)
14. Subscribe to key behaviors and role-modeling of Accountability, Sensitivity to Communication and Trust

16. Prepare and deliver both oral and written presentations representing Soft Sheen-Carson Global Marketing initiatives.
17. Provides context for team to work within – including the history, values, trends and future objectives of the division within the market
EDUCATION
– Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA is preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS
– 8+ years of brand management experience
– 3-5 years Product Development experience
– Must have successfully launched several products
– CPG Industry experience is a must. Beauty industry experience is a plus
SKILLS
– Conceptual thinking, curious, open, enthusiast, energetic. Must be able to originate concepts, generate images and to build on ideas. Appreciation of global markets and trends; international experience a plus.
– Sense of timing/urgency/priorities: Effectively plot timing of all elements of a project, including the development of product and related support materials.
– Flexibility and multi-tasking: Skillfully monitor and adapt portfolio of projects in order to meet the demands of current business environment. Provide weekly updates to relevant management.
– Financial Acumen: Ability to analyze new project viability in terms of sales and profit goals of the division. Examine all relative issues such as sales volume potentials, number of sku’s, cost of goods. Synthesize information into a complete and concise proposal.
– Manager skills and strong leadership.
– Interpersonal Skills: Provide effective management of people and leadership skills – especially to influence peers. Exhibit cultural sensitivity and an ability to adapt communication style as needed.
