Job description
The Product Coordinator – Licensing employs a range of communication and business skills and process knowledge used to collaborate with the brand teams. The Product Coordinator will be responsible for all facets of the day-to-day administration and support of the hard and soft goods product lines within the IBML branded portfolio. Responsibilities include product management and coordination with cross functional departments including marketing, sourcing, manufacturing and sales.
The role will involve coordination and communication of product and marketing approvals with licensees across a number of brands.
Effective communications with the corporate product development teams and the licenses’ product development team commonly fall into the following areas:
• Fitness and exercise equipment
• Apparel, footwear and accessories
The role will involve coordination and communication of brand, marketing and product seasonal briefing strategies and product approvals. This role will also include standardizing of processes and initiatives to ensure a cohesive, consistent worldwide brand.
Responsibilities/Duties
• Monitor and approve all product and related submissions; design, packaging, marketing, etc.
• Initiate, research, communicate and distribute brand, product and marketing materials to licensees on a seasonal basis.
• Have a command over and be able to communicate legal Trade mark requirements for each brand to licensees.
• Ensure consistency of the marketing and brand strategies between product development, marketing and licensees.
• Secure annual and seasonal product development plans from licensees.
• Gain retailer and key competitor knowledge (product, consumer and marketing trends) to assist in developing appropriate retail programs.
• Individual must be able to work effectively as a partner with licensees to drive sales and enhance the overall brand.
• Provide assistance in a broad range of strategic and operational issues/areas, as well as provide perspective and recommendations on significant issues faced by the licensees.
• Act as the key product liaison to licensees and product development teams; provide them with new products information that strengthens their revenue efforts.
• Provide seasonal direction and briefing to softgoods categories
Skills
• Two (2) to three (3) years product design/development and or product merchandising experience.
• Experience working with product development teams on licensed programs.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in an entrepreneurial team environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or significant relevant experience.
• Must be passionate and enjoy what you do.
• Strong project management and execution skills.
• Excel in a team environment, demonstrate an upbeat attitude, willingness to be heard, sound business reasoning, and ability to work effectively and professionally.
• Intermediate to advanced user of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
