MOI’M Gala 2014: Showtime
Back to Category Print this page

NY—MOI’M is back with its unforgettable gala. MOI’M Gala 2014: Showtime invites all students and young professionals from New York City and beyond. Organized by experienced and widely connected staff members, MOI’M Gala 2014: Showtime will take its guests to a new level of networking and partying in New York City. In collaboration with renowned Korean artists Gary (Leessang) & Jungin, MOI’M is bringing its next groundbreaking event to premier venue New York City Gotham Hall (1,200 capacity) on September 20, 2014. Starting with a cocktail reception and hors d’oeuvres, there will be a three-course dinner, full premium open bar, fun activities and giveaways.

MOI’M has established a strong presence across East Coast Korean communities since early 2013, achieving large-scale networking successes through attendance and performances by top stars of “Hallyu,” the Korean Wave. At its previous networking event in New York—The College Mixology—MOI’M hosted 500 students and alumni of 84 schools, and guests ranged from 21 to 41 years old, including many young professionals from such companies as Amazon, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Samsung, and NY1.

Aspiring to be the leading Korean Networking Organization in the U.S. and abroad, MOI’M prides itself in organizing events that provide individuals with the opportunity to not only expand their professional networks, but also meet individuals who become important parts of their personal lives. At previous MOI’M events, guests have found new career opportunities, and met potential colleagues, mentors, and mentees. In addition, MOI’M events are perfect opportunities to create both professional relationships and friendships with individuals from different schools and fields.

It is anticipated that the Showtime gala will be attended by over 500 guests from a selective Korean, Korean American, and Asian American population, who come from a diverse panorama of educational, economic, and social backgrounds. Furthermore, a large non-Korean population is expected to attend the gala since Gary (Leessang) & Jungin have gained a sizable following outside of Asia. They are known for their music for the soul and their captivating command of the stage that resonate with music fans beyond the Korean peninsula.

MOI’M’s first gala, MOI’M Gala 2013: The Red Carpet, which took place September 2013, showcased honorary guest speaker, Sean (Jinusean), who gave a motivational speech about the importance of happiness and balance in life and what it means to “give back”, and keynote speaker, Lewis Dodley (NY1 News, Anchor), who shared his point of view on the trends and influence of “Hallyu” on global communities. After the gala, guests were inspired to give back to the community and voluntarily donated a collective $13,910 to support the construction of a Children’s Rehabilitation Center with the Purme Foundation and Sean. While the majority of gala guests were from “Networking Through Entertainment, Inspiration Through Networking” the East Coast of the U.S., there were also guests from the West Coast of the U.S., Canada, and South Korea who traveled thousands of miles to attend the event.

Come meet students and alumni from Columbia, NYU, Yale, Cornell, Harvard, Parsons, SVA, FIT, Pratt, CIA, Stony Brook, Rutgers, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Emory, Johns Hopkins, Georgia Tech, KANA, KASA, Northwestern, Pepperdine, UC Berkeley, University of Washington and more!

Must be 21+ to attend. Evening and Cocktail Attire. Tickets available at: www.moimnewyork.com/gala2014.
