We are specifically looking for an Experienced Consultant to join our CFO Advisory Services consulting practice in New York.
CFO Advisory Services is a specialized practice area made up of experienced and credentialed professionals that have spent the majority of their careers working in finance and accounting. Clients of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP expect excellence in the areas of strategy, operations, technology and process improvement, and we respond by delivering them the latest in thought leadership, methodology, benchmarking and best practices.
Our main priority is to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the finance and accounting function, providing all finance executives, managers and staff the tools and techniques to do their jobs better.
The Experienced Consultant in our CFO Advisory Services consulting practice will assume a number of responsibilities, including:
• Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management and staff. Collaborate to plan engagement objectives and strategies that address project risk and performance. Manage expectations of service delivery and overcome client obstacles and objections.
• Demonstrate high levels of technical and professional leadership by accumulating skills and knowledge that is relevant to the clients business and unique business issues. Acquire industry knowledge and use it to improve the clients perspective and performance.
• Deliver quality professional services by leveraging BTVK methodologies and resources. Ensure that all deliverables are relevant and contain the appropriate level of detail and quality control. Communicate facts, findings, recommendations and solutions to the client with impact and empathy.
• Collaborate effectively as a team member, leading and contributing to the team’s success as appropriate. Work independently when necessary and leverage client and BTVK personnel when necessary to meet objectives and deadlines.
• Generate new business opportunities. Understand Baker Tilly Virchow Krause and its service lines and actively assess/present ways to bring value to clients. Develop long-term client relationships and networks. Develop relationships with other Baker Tilly Virchow Krause team members across all practices to serve client needs.
• Organize work through effective detailed work planning and directing small consultant and client teams.

Some combination of the following qualifications, skills and experience is necessary to be considered for this position. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of providing services to senior finance and accounting executives.
Experience working with a top tier professional services firm is a must, Big Four experience desired
A bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting or Economics (MBA a plus)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accounting (CMA) preferred
At least 3 years of experience providing consulting, advisory or related professional services to the finance and accounting function of medium to large sized companies, either as a service provider or internal consultant.
Progressive experience as an auditor, accountant or financial/management reporting specialist.
Experience in the area of Managerial/cost accounting and financial statement/ratio analysis
Shares services/business process outsourcing assessment, design & implementation credentials
Specific experience in the following accounting process areas:
• Order to Cash
• Procure to Pay
• Record to Report
• Budgeting, Forecasting, Planning and Analysis
• Performance Management
• Governance, Risk and Controls
Experience utilizing or implementing financial management systems and tools, including:
• Financials Applications (G/L, A/P, A/R, F/A, etc…)
• Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting
• Business Performance Measurement and Reporting
• Decision Analytics
Business process mapping, design and improvement experience
Intermediate understanding of technologies used in support of financial process automation
Evaluation, design and implementation of ERP systems (Financial Applications), including design of chart of accounts, business processes and financial & management reports
Basic understanding of risk/internal control frameworks
Superior analytic capabilities with advanced skills in Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Visio
Excellent verbal/written communication and project management skills, including work plan development and execution
