Position Summary:
The Support Architect will ensure that the SiriusXM Subscriber Management System (SMS) meets business expectations on reliability, accuracy, and performance. The SMS is at its core an Oracle BRM implementation utilizing COTS software, custom developed software, a Weblogic service tier, and a variety of reporting tools. The Support Architect will evaluate performance for SMS changes, investigate and analyze reported defects, and support business users (primarily finance and customer care) in using the SMS.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Review proposed changes to SMS system and evaluate implications to performance, operations, and reliability
– Support internal customers in understanding the source data behind reports. In particular:
– Acting as the technical expert during audit periods, assisting Finance in reconciling reports with the underlying SMS data.
– Assisting the data quality team in identifying discrepancies and their size
– Working with the development team to improve internal validations
– Investigate reported issues, determine root-cause, business impact, and evaluate the priority to resolve
– Act as technical expert during performance testing, identifying system bottlenecks or other risks in meeting SMS capacity targets.
– Interact with peers in other IT systems to resolve enterprise issues with functionality, performance, or data quality.
– Work with Application Operations team on developing daily, monthly run-books related to upcoming projects
– Work with the Release Management team to develop troubleshooting, monitoring, and deployment strategies for upcoming releases.
– Setting and communicating technical direction on the support architecture of the SMS Application suite.
– Leading all reviews of changes being proposed or implemented against the SMS system.

Minimum Qualifications:
– Bachelors degree in IT-related field required, Masters degree preferred
– 10+ years of work experience demonstrating escalating technical responsibilities
– 5+ years of experience with Oracle BRM (formerly, Portal Infranet)
– Oracle BRM experience must include Oracle BRM 7.0 or higher
Requirements and General Skills:
– Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels
– Ability for “light” travel to NYC and work with NYC-based staff (2 days/week to 1 week/month)
– Comfortable working with business users in marketing, finance, and customer care
– Comfortable working with IT teams including DBAs, hardware support, and business intelligence
– Understanding software development lifecycle principles and tasks
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to work independently and in a team environment
– Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
– Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects
– Strong organizational skills and attention to details
– Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
Technical Skills:
– Oracle BRM specific experience, including:
– Experience implementing Multi-national Oracle BRM systems.
– Experience implementing web services using Apache Struts or Struts 2.
– Demonstration of Billing-specific knowledge within Oracle BRM
Cycles – How they are managed on the account level, bill level, and product level.
Taxes – How they are associated with a product, rated event, bill.
Pricing – Advance Pricing Configuration using Oracle BRM Pricing Center 7.2. (Discounts, Rate Plans, RUMs, Currencies)
GL – Posting, Month End Reporting, and relation to rated events, pricing, acounts.
Bills – Components of, relation to accounts, and to Ledger Reports
Collections – Various stages and key sources of transition
Accounts – Various Hierarchies, Types, Attributes, and Statuses.
Services – Relation to Accounts, Products, Devices.
Currency – Multi-Currency Considerations, Account Balances
Non-Currency – BEID file, Pricing, Account Balances
Data Model – Oracle BRM Class Model, Oracle BRM Data Model familiarity
Interfaces – UEL, DM’s, Policy Op-Codes, Client Applications
– Oracle, C, Java, Unix, SQL, PERL, Release Management (CVS), RUP/SDLC methodology and associated tools (Visio, UML, etc)
– Load-testing methodologies, interpreting load-test results, and related tools (eg: LoadRunner)
