As a prominent Asian American in the community, MC Jin paved the way for future Asian Americans to break out of their shells into the world of music and live entertainment. It wasn’t an easy journey but he made it to be the first American solo rapper of Asian descent signed to a major hip-hop record label. Back stateside now, MC Jin will be releasing a full length album on October 19th titled “14:59”.

About MC Jin:
MC Jin, is an Chinese American rapper, songwriter, and actor. Born in Miami, Florida and later living in New York City, he decided to live in Hong Kong before returning to New York to reside permanently in the summer of 2012. In the United States, he was both the first American solo rapper of East Asian and Hong Kong descent to be signed to a major hip hop record label. His upcoming full length album, to be released October 19th, features work collaborations with Grammy winning producers who have worked with Pharrell, Kendrick Lamar, and more.
About Apex for Youth:
Apex for Youth delivers possibilities to underserved Asian and immigrant youth from low-income families in NYC. We recruit working professionals to volunteer and become positive role models who inspire youth to expand their horizons and envision what is possible for their lives. Through mentoring and educational programs that serve students from 1st to 12th grade, Apex volunteers guide and support youth to become confident, be ready for college and give back to the community.
