Samurai Shakespeare “R and J” opens with the last scene from “Romeo and Juliet” where the parents of the young couple find their bodies, hand in hand. The investigation by Prince Escalus, the agony of Friar Laurence, and the romance of Romeo and Juliet that came to an end too quickly and unexpectedly—Set in Japanese Samurai period, the play also questions “the meaning of life and death” “what it means to fight” “what a sword symbolizes.” The story unfolds with series of Japanese sword-fighting and folk dances. Find out what is revealed in the end!
