PRINCETON CHINESE THEATRE (PCT) was founded in April 2008 by five sophomores and one junior Chinese stage play enthusiasts. The theatre company is run entirely by students, from publicity to technical support, from acting to directing, while receiving professional guidance at the same time. We aim at promoting Chinese culture by performing Chinese stage plays in Chinese, both on campus as well as outside the University. Each year PCT puts on two shows, one in fall and one in spring, while hosting other activities along the course of the year.
Attemping to receive more funding, the principal of a desolated school in a rural village reports the mule carrying water for the school as an English teacher. Upon the visist of an inspector, the school gets an illiterate blacksmith to impersonate the English teacher and a hilarious yet absurt story ensues. As matters quickly got out of hand, the various shades of human nature get exposed in front of the audience’s eyes.
