YUKIDOKE FESTIVAL Part.1
Discover Japanese Tradition from Ishikawa
Globus Chashitsu and J-COLLABO are pleased to announce a very special events. New York City will spring to the beat of the arts & crafts of Ishikawa Prefecture.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the Japan Alps and Sea of Japan, Ishikawa is home to both ancient handicrafts and cutting-edge high tech—often coexisting in the same product. Asahi Electronic marries traditional lacquerware with 3D technology to create stunning iPhone covers. HIRO Co.’s T-Shirts are sewn from silk, Japanese washi paper, and gold foil. Amaike Textile Industry produces lightest, thinnest fabrics in the world. Kobo Hisatsune manufactures kitchenware employing 500-year-old dye techniques.
Visitors to Yukidoke Festival will also imbibe the essence of Japanese culture in the form of the tea ceremony, as well as an exhibition of –– kimono. Topping it off will be a performance of the flamboyant dance form Renjishi. Two practitioners of this Kabuki performing art—sometimes called Lion Dance—will journey from Ishikawa to perform exclusively for audiences at our events.
