kion began her creation activities under the name kion in May 2010.
Using an original technique called “kiotangle” (kion × Zentangle) which makes use of a style based around black and white with only a touch of color, she draw works that combine animals, humans, and more. Her peculiar worlds are mainly supported by her fascination with the layers of the world.
kion participated in her first exhibit in Tokyo during high school and received high acclaim, but since then she has focused on being active online, so she plans on proactively trying to be active at events and exhibits from here on out.
How characters and words are used in conversation, and what knowledge a person has gleaned differs for everyone, so kion wants those who see her art to have an impression of it based on how they felt at that time. To her, a work is complete at the moment when the viewer takes from the art the feelings she put into it.
How people feel and think differs for everyone, and kion wants such an obvious thing to be transmitted through her art.
kion currently has postcards, tote bags, smartphone cases, and other products for sale online.
A diverse lineup of products are also in the works on Tokyo Otaku Mode including posters, T-shirts, and cushion covers based on several of kion’s works including her first representative work as kion, “Dream Maker.”
