This year, for the first time ever, each film will be introduced by a special guest, including Top Gun flight double and former astronaut Scott D. Altman, astrophysicist Dr. Steve B. Howell, author Jeffrey Kluger and more!

This Thursday, Intrepid is screening Apollo 13.
In this harrowing true story, NASA must devise a strategy to return Apollo 13 safely to Earth after the spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage, putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy.

Jeffrey Kluger is editor-at-large of Time magazine and Time.com and the author of nine books. His first book, co-authored with former astronaut Jim Lovell, was Apollo 13, which served as the basis of the 1995 movie. Kluger admits that when he was a boy, Lovell was his favorite astronaut—a fact that compelled him to approach Lovell in 1992 about working on a book together. Early responses to the book were not encouraging. They were told, “Nobody wants to read about three guys who didn’t land on the moon 22 years ago.” As it turned out, many people did.
